KEARA MURPHY: MICE AND WOMEN
Fresh from a triumphant appearance at The Big Burns Supper Festival in Dumfries, a mini-run at Rabbie Burns Whisky Bar in Edinburgh and with her documentary, The Secret Sex Life of Robert Burns, due to air on BBC Radio Scotland on Burns Day, 25 January 2015, actress, comedian, writer and keen Burns enthusiast, Keara Murphy, presents this extremely funny, modern, feminist parallel on the Robert Burns poem, To A Mouse.
She looks at the different ranges of options for mouse eradication today - unavailable in Burns day - and asks some moralistic and amusing questions on life, love, loneliness and the fundamental need for Snickers bars!

AN INTIMATE EVENING WITH DOUGIE MACLEAN
Dougie MacLean is Scotland's pre-eminent singer-songwriter and a national musical treasure" (SingOut USA) who has developed a unique blend of lyrical, 'roots based' songwriting and instrumental composition.
This intimate performance at Alloway's prestigious Brig o' Doon Hotel will provide a fitting finale to the Alloway 1759 weekend. Dougie will be supported by the wonderful Eilidh Grant. A firm favourite with Ayrshire audiences, Eilidh is an award winning Scottish Singer Songwriter whose stunning voice beautifully renders both classic folk songs and original material. With a love for traditional and contemporary folk alike, underpinned by a passion for Burns, Eilidh has made a considerable impression on the British and Irish folk scenes.
MacLean's songs have been covered by hosts of artists, including Paolo Nutini, Amy MacDonald, Ronan Keating, Mary Black, Frankie Miller and Kathy Mattea.
