WAYNE ELLINGTON SINGS NAT KING COLE

Gaiety Theatre, Ayr

WAYNE ELLINGTON SINGS NAT KING COLE

Nat King Cole was an original, selling in excess of 30 million records during his career. His voice unmistakable and completely unique, loved the world over. Every generation since his death has fallen in love with the King’s voice and music. Wayne Ellington’s voice is warm, silky and smooth; his tone suits Nat King Cole’s songs perfectly. Wayne doesn’t mimic Nat King Cole; he plays tribute to a legend who left us far too early. He sings all the songs we know and love so well, with honesty and complete respect.

His show is a beautiful tribute to the great man, his voice will leave you tingling and spellbound, this is a show not to be missed.

AYR CONCERT SERIES: SCOTTISH CHAMBER ORCHESTRA 'BEETHOVEN THE PASTORAL'

Ayr Town Hall

AYR CONCERT SERIES: SCOTTISH CHAMBER ORCHESTRA 'BEETHOVEN THE PASTORAL'

We have come to expect startling adventures every time SCO Associate Artist Richard Egarr is in town, and this programme will doubtless be no exception. We may not be familiar with the name Etienne Mehul as his scores were lost for many but, as Paris’ answer to Mozart and Haydn, Beethoven thought highly of his French contemporary. Egarr agrees, reasoning that Mehul’s stormy First Symphony “deserves a much higher status in 19th century music history.” Experience the freedom of the countryside and total harmonic happiness with Betterhoven’s homage to nature, his ‘Pastoral’. Beethoven – Overture, Prometheus. Mehul – Symphony No 1 in G minor. Beethoven – Symphony No 6 ‘Pastoral’. Richard Eggar, Conductor.

Tickets: Standard £24 (Circle) £20 (Stalls) Student £5 (Stalls Only) Child £3
