The most talked about reality TV show, The X Factor, is coming to Ayr Central for the first time on Saturday 19 April to hold its mobile audition.

If you think you have what it takes to be the next Paolo Nutini or KT Tunstall then all you have to do is turn up and perform – it’s that’s simple!

The auditions are open to those who are 16 years and over only so get those vocal chords warmed up. Good luck!

6K FAMILY FUN RUN
Ayr Esplanade

After we were nearly washed over the Ayr Esplanade last year and had to cancel on the day, we thought we'd try for a spring date. We're optimistic that we won't be battered by storms or April showers!! Our new date is Sunday 27th April, the route and time remain the same.

We will run or for the less energetic stroll along Ayr Esplanade. Registration on the day will open at 12pm, Karen Murrie will do the warm up at 12.40pm and the race will commence at 1pm. Anyone who entered last year will automatically transfer to the new date unless you opted to compete in the Santa Dash in November last year.

New entrants can complete the form online or call Gail Anderson for a registration form. Entry fees are £10 per adult, 5-16 yrs.' £6 and under 4's free and a family of four is £28.

COMBAT STRESS SUMMER FETE

Join Combat Stress at their annual Summer Fete at Hollybush House and take advantage of the unique opportunity to visit the grounds and hopefully understand more about its place in the Ayrshire community.

The event will be opened and compered by Scottish comedian, Fred MacAulay.

A fun filled afternoon is promised with an opportunity to try your hand on a flight simulator, meet the Royal Regimental Pony – Cruachan4 or get up close and personal with birds of prey. You could even challenge Andrew Leishman – Auchinleck Talbot's goalie - and try and get a ball past him or have a go on the Marines' challenge course.

Live music will be provided by Ayrshire singing star Nicola Cassells and local band – Naked Heel – and the Ayrshire Hillbillies bikers will be riding in from Wellington Square for the afternoon. All the usual stalls and chance to win a range of prizes will be available.

Entry is only £2 and includes a cream tea.

CULZEAN - SCOTLAND'S GARDENS OPEN DAY
Culzean Castle & Country Park, Maybole

Help us raise funds for the Scotland's Gardens Scheme and enjoy behind the scenes guided walks from our Head Gardener. A major Scottish attraction and a perfect day out for all the family. Robert Adam’s romantic 18th century masterpiece is perched on a cliff high above the Firth of Clyde.

The Fountain Garden lies in front of the castle with terraces and herbaceous borders reflecting its Georgian elegance. The extensive country park offers beaches and rockpools, parklands, gardens, woodland walks and adventure playground. It contains fascinating restored buildings contemporary with the castle.

Castle and estate open - see NTS website for details. Restaurant has homemade wine from Culzean. The tour starts from the walled garden at 2:00pm and includes behind the scenes.
