BURNS AN A THAT FESTIVAL FEATURING WEEKEND IN THE PARK The Burns an' a' that! Festival is an annual tribute to Scotland's internationally acclaimed poet Robert Burns. In 2013 the festival will celebrate both its twelfth anniversary and The Year of Natural Scotland with a special 'Weekend in the Park' celebration at Belleisle Park, Ayr (Sat 25 & Sun 26 May). Join us for an amazing line-up of live music, visual and performance art, family entertainment, food and drink and much more! The festival begins with a special FESTIVAL FRIDAY (Fri 24 May) launch in Ayr Town Centre where you can find out all about the weekend ahead and get a taste for some of the treats on offer. The weekend completes with a brilliant FESTIVAL FINALE gig in our live music tent where Justin Currie (ex Del Amitri) will perform tracks from his solo and band career. Justin will be supported by Rachel Sermanni. Bring your friends, bring a picnic and join us for an unforgettable weekend packed full of unique surprises! Entry to the Burns an' a' that! | BREAKTHROUGH BREAST CANCER WALK | ||
BREAKTHROUGH BREAST CANCER WALK This is the 9th annual sponsored walk, jog or run in aid of Breakthrough Breast Cancer. This event takes place on the first Saturday in June every year and has raised £50,000 to date. The walk is ten miles long but there are two shorter routes of 6 miles and 2 miles. Sponsor forms are available from Elaine Mitchell. The entry fee is £10 for adults and £3 for children. Registration is at 5.30pm and the walk begins at 6pm. | SORN TO MUIRKIRK SPONSORED WALK | ||
We invite you to join Ayrshire Cancer Support once again for our popular annual sponsored walk from Sorn to Muirkirk. The 13.5 mile moderate route starts from The Cabin, Sorn and sets off along the River Ayr Way taking in some of the finest scenery that Ayrshire has to offer. It will finish up at The Day Centre in Furnace Road, Muirkirk. where tea, coffee and snacks will be provided for hungry walkers. There is limited transport back to Muirkirk. All we ask is that you raise a minimum of £20 in sponsorship. |

VIP's (VERY IMPORTANT POOCHES!) It will be best paw forward when our four-legged friends (and their masters) take a sponsored stroll along the banks of the River Ayr on our annual Waggy Tail Walk. We've had dalmatians, collies, labradors, westies, basenjis, spaniels, shih tzus and jack russels to name but a few. Why don't you and your dog join us and made new friends along the way. There is a "watering-hole" during the route where Kirsty and Agnes make sure there are drinks and snacks for the two-legged walkers and water and biscuits for the dogs - it's thirsty work for everyone! There is no registration fee and no minimum sponsorship - we are most appreciative of any amount raised. Start / Finish Point:Ayr College Car Park. Registration Point: Ayrshire Hospice Trailer based in Ayr College Car Park. Come along and register any time between 12 noon and 2pm and start the walk at your leisure. |

Ayrshire boasts some fantastic festivals and outdoor events, from Burns an A That in May, Ayr Flower Show and Marymass Festival in August, and Septembayr Ayr's Own Festival the list is endless.
There are also travelling events such as the funfair and the circus.
Not to mention the many Ayrshire Gala days and Highland games. Fingers crossed for some good weather this year!
