| land o burns midnight walk | ||
There Is a choice of completing either the full route of 13 miles or shortened versions of around 9 or 4 miles. Last year's Walk was a brilliant fun night - many people had dressed up, had their faces painted, wore flashing hats and fluorescent necklaces – and lots of t-shirts carried messages and photos in memory of friends and loved ones. There was a fabulous atmosphere all evening, created by entertainment by Time of your Life, Maybole Pipe Band, stiltwalkers, jugglers, singers and musicians – but most of all by the walkers themselves and our brilliant army of volunteers who helped make sure that the event ran smoothly and with no major hitches! |

| MARYMASS FESTIVAL | ||
Irvine Marymass Festival.
Thousands of locals and visitors packed the streets of Irvine at last year's Marymass Festival. Throughout the twelve days, celebrating tradition and heritage – people from all walks of life took part in a whole variety of events. The main event - Marymass Saturday was fantastic with celebrations starting early as the colourful parade – one of Scotland's largest horse-drawn processions – made its way through the town. Both the parade – featuring local community groups, bands, dancers and businesses – and the happy crowds made their way to the heart of Marymass Saturday at Irvine Moor where they enjoyed the traditional races, fairground and entertainment, not to mention the famous Greasy Pole. |
