KILMARNOCK FIRST EDITION
The Dick Institute, 1 Elmbank Avenue, Kilmarnock

The main focus of 'The Kilmarnock Edition' is a replica of the printing press used by Kilmarnock publisher John Wilson to print the First Edition of Robert Burns works in 1786. The press has been built by members of the 'Burns 1st Edition Projuect Team' with support from East Ayrshire Council and the Heritage Lottery Fund. The displays will also feature manuscripts from Burns and other key objects.

The press is fully functioning and will be operated under supervision by qualified printers for both organised school and group visits and during special open events.
