Dalmilling Golf Course, Ayr
First opened in 1961 Dalmilling golf course is set
The course is an honest, open parkland as they say and it plays away from the clubhouse and swoops into a rolling valley.
The renowned river Ayr borders the southern end of this exquisite course, with some of its tributary burns adding attraction to the early holes, especially the sixth, a 135 yard par three that is almost completely surrounded by water.
By playing here you can sense that you are in the heart of "Burns Country", where the world famous poet Robert Burns was born and raised. The size of this breath-taking course is 5658 yards, a challenge for a dedicated golfer.

If you are a confident golfer you can cut the corner of the dog leg for a shorter approach to the green BUT don't over do it or you'll end up out of bounds on the 3rd fairway.
A tee shot aimed down the left shortens the hole but brings the river into play. A safer tee shot would be played to the right. .
|A tricky front 9|
Keep the ball straight and do not waiver as you will end up in the river, woods or out of bounds. The river takes a number of balls over the year.
