MUSICAL icons The Human League are the star after racing attraction at this year's Coral Scottish Grand National Festival.

The band ,who comprise Philip Oakey, Joanne Catherall and Susan Ann Sulley, play The Ayrshire Suite at Ayr Racecourse after the opening day action on Friday 20th April 2012

The Human League will play a full concert featuring their many hits including the song they are best known for - the 2 million selling single 'Don't You Want Me' which reached Number 1 at Christmas 1981.

Later this year the band will launch a major tour of the UK but before that they head to Ayr for what will be a memorable gig in front of around two thousand fans.

Ayr Racecourse Sales and Marketing Manager Lindsey Smith commented : "We first announced The Human League gig shortly after New Year and the interest and ticket sales have been excellent."It's an opportunity to see live one of the bands who shaped the soundtrack of the 80s and I know its going to be a night to remember. And the fact that we don't charge extra for people to see the band is an added bonus. Once you have bought your race ticket you can stay and watch The Human League."
